Step 1 Warming-up & Lead in

Hello, boys and girls, how are you today Great! Great! Great! I am great, too. Thanks for

your asking. Are you ready for our English travel Yes.

First, let's sing the song "Old Macdonald had a farm" together. Everybody, stand up.

"Old Macdonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O. And on his farm he had some cows, E-I-E-I-O.

With a moo moo here and a moo moo there, here a moo there a moo, everywhere a

moo moo. Old Macdonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O." (配合肢体动作) Wow, your voices are

so beautiful. You are so lescribovely.

Now boys and girls, look at some photos. （指向 PPT） Now you can’t look at their

heads. Who are they Guess together! The first one. Amy Now you can look at her face.

Yes, this is Amy. Let’s go on. The second one. Mike Let’s have a look. No, this is Jim. They

are our friends. (指向 PPT) Today let’s learn Unit 4 This is my friend. (板书标题）

Step 2 Presentation

New words:

Let’s look at the next photo. Who are they Yes, Peppa Pig, Susie, Candy and Pedro. They

are friends.（板书 friend 并领读两遍）

Now my class, look at the photo. Who are they Yes, they are Han Hong and Angelababy.

We all know Han Hong is fat and Angelababy is thin. （手势比划胖瘦的动作，板书并

领读两遍）

My dear class, I need your help. Who can come to the front Lucy and Tom, you are so

kind. Come to the stage, please. Let’s see their height. We can see Lucy is 145

centimeters tall, and Tom is 140 centimeters tall. So we can see Lucy is tall, and Tom is

short.（板书并领读两遍）

Well, boys and girls, let’s read the words one by one.

OK, my class, since we have learned the new words, let's do some interesting. I do you

guess. I do some actions and you should guess which word I am describing. Are you

clear I will divide you into boys group and girls group and let's have a competition. (板书

反馈分组和竞争) Are you ready Let's go. Number 1. (比划出胖的动作) Good, girls got

it. It's "fat". One star for girls group. Let's go on. Number 2.（比划出矮的动作）Great,

my boys got it. It's "short". One star for you. And one more time, one, two, three, （比

划出高的动作） Well, my girls got it again. It's " tall.". We see girls are the winners.

Let's clap for them, great, great, you are great. (配合手势) My boys, never mind, come

on next time.

New sentence pattern:

Well, boys and girls, Peter and Alice will introduce their friends to us. Now let’s listen to

the recording and find “This is...” （板书，停顿两秒）The recording is over. Now who

can show your answer Amy, you are always so active. Yes, as Amy says “This is Joe. This

is Peter.” Good answer. Thank you. Sit down, please.

Next let’s listen again and and find the answer to the questions.

(停顿两秒） The first question, Lily please. You are so fast. Excellent, sit down please.

We can find the answer in our dialogue "He’s tall." Joe is tall. Because Joe is a boy. So we

can say that he’s tall. The second question, Ben please. Don't be shy, tell us your

answer. Thank you, sit down please. As Ben said, “She’s thin.”. Kitty is a girl. We know

that Kitty is thin. So we can also say that she’s thin.（板书 He’s ... She’s ...）

Let’s look at the picture. （手指 PPT）Who are they Yes, they are Wang Zulan and his

wife Li Yanan. What are they like （做出比划身高的动作）Yes, Wang Zulan is short

and Liyanan is tall. So we can say that ... (停顿两秒） Yes, he’s short and she’s tall.

If you want to introduce your friend to others, how can you say You are so smart. Yes,

you can use the sentence "This is... He’s/ She’s..." My boys and girls, read the sentence

pattern on our blackboard loudly after me. (手指板书）

OK, boys and girls, let’s listen to the recording again and repeat. Pay attention to your

pronunciation and intonation. Good reading.

Step 3 Practice

Boys and girls, now read the text by yourselves and then you should do the role play
